SkyTrak in the Garage!
The SkyTrak has been really fun and I’ve only really used like 20% of the functionality. I went with the SkyTrak with protective case (must have) and the 9’x9′ Preferred Finished Golf Impact Screen. I can only imagine the premium screen is incredibly nice because the preferred looks and works great. It can easily fold and roll up. I was concerned that the preferred screen wouldn’t be thick enough to absorb shots well, but not the case at all. Just give the net about a foot or so behind of room to absorb the shot impacts. The screen also doesn’t make as loud of an impact sound as I expected. Reading reviews for other impact screens, that seemed like a big issue for some. Not the case with the preferred. Doesn’t even really make a sound at all.
Overall very happy with my purchase and can’t wait to spend countless hours in the garage getting better.

Sky Track is perfect for what I need. I have it set up in my garage and use it mostly for wedges and irons. I would recommend that you add the Challenges and Skills Assessment to enhance your enjoyment.

Shady subscription service model

The launch monitor is good, works for the price point it’s sold. Perfect it is not but good enough that you can play/practice indoors. However be aware, their service is a subscription based model if you want to actually play any sort of simulation software. Recently Skygolf decided to hike their base subscription by 100%, without any warnings to any of their customers. All comments regarding this tactic was immediately deleted from their Facebook page. Customer support is non-existent.

I read a lot of reviews about this product before I purchased it. All of these reviews are very critical. This is a great product. Yes, it does have some issues. It’s not perfect. I’m a 3 handicap and I know where my ball is going as soon as I hit it and sometimes it’ll project something wonky.
When I read these reviews I didn’t see any from low handicap golfers. Tons of golf shops use these monitors to fit customers.
The set up is a little confusing. I contacted SkyTrak directly and they set it all up for me. Great customer service.

After having read all the negative reviews I was a bit nervous buying this but I also read all the posts about how many people with the negative reviews may be setting it up incorrectly . I followed the basic instructions and it is working great for me. Accuracy is good and value for the money is great, I am a 18 handicap having played golf for 30+ years. My irons are good and relatively consistent so the data is accurate for me. I’m a 18 handicap not because of poor ball striking but terrible putting and short game.

Works pretty damn well! Sometimes it doesn’t register the shot, but that’s ok. Should be able to replicate that perfect swing more than once! I suggest buying the protective case as this device seems to be a magnet to the ball coming back from the net. Also I’ve toed the ball a couple times and sent it straight into the thing, but the case kept it alive.

For the 7 handicap like me it gives me all the feedback I need to improve. I could spend 25M for a Trakman and get essentially the same result. I’m not too happy with the software I’m forced to buy, the website is 3rd rate, difficult to navigate and understand. I’ve read other reviews that suggested that the SkyTrak misses shots, I can recall only two times in a thousand shots has it not recorded. I’ve matched it with my Skycaddie and they are very close.

The wait was worse than I expected… but when my wife told me that a box had showed up to the house, my mind was blown. Set up was easy… fires up right away. So far no issues with connections. Have had multiple 5-6 hour sessions with family and friends playing on it. Great value here!

Good Product
The unit is very solid, I’ve had it over a year. My only reason for 4 star is I was experiencing an issue registering zero shots to which I could not find a resolution with Skytrak. I was unable to find any manuals, forums, Youtube’s and had to call Skytrak. The long and the short of it is I had dust on my camera, not very much mind you. But if your unit unexpectantly stops registering shots, wipe off the camera lens. This could be common sense for most people but due to the few hours of aggravation with not being to find any information on this I thought I would post.

Good Product, but WGT Integration Needs Work
The SkyTrak hardware seems to work well and I like the way it can work in smaller spaces relative the radar-based monitors. My main complaint is with the WGT (golf course simulator software) integration. I’ve had to uninstall/reinstall the app and switching between SkyTrak app and WGT is janky (open SkyTrak app in network mode, hard close, open WGT). WGT can get stuck in some zombie state and I needed to re-install to get it working again. Finally, the SkyTrack login credentials don’t seem to work on WGT – need another user name. It would be great if WGT was integrated seamlessly into the SkyTrak app itself. Hopefully this will get sorted out in future releases.

WGT software is not working with New IPad
I purchased the SkyTrack and the software plan that would allow me to practice and play using the WGT platform. Currently, the WGT platform is not working with new iPads (or at least that is what the people at SkyTrak are telling me). I have called SkyTrak multiple times to resolve the problem. Their only solution is to wait until an “update” comes out that will allow the SkyTrak to be used with WGT.
They can not tell me when to expect the update. So, beware if you are buying SkyTrak and intending to use it with WGT golf. Practice with the SkyTrak was been useful and it does seem to give fairly accurate readings. But, I would not have purchased SkyTrak or the expensive plan if I know this could have been a problem.
