Ideal for golfers looking to replace the hitting strips in their SIGPRO Mats or DIYers that need an insert for their subfloor – the SIGPRO Softy, SIGPRO 3D, and Preferred, are all designed with their own unique qualities and differences that result in better performance, durability and feel.

We set out to create the very best, most realistic hitting strip on the market. Think Augusta fairways, think Pinehurst – the SIGPRO Softy is designed to feel like the very best fairways in the game.

How? After testing and deconstructing other mats from all the other companies, our design team discovered innovative materials and construction methods to produce the most realistic hitting surface that eliminates all possibilities of pain and soreness in your joints. The SIGPRO Softy is our most premium artificial turf that is second to none in playability, accuracy, and responsive shape.

 

Design

Softy’s innovative design starts in the middle with a super soft foam insert. A plush layer of 1-inch thick Teeline turf mimics real grass feel while providing 100% accurate feedback on great shots and mishits. A thin layer of responsive ABS polyurethane allows for the flex action to occur at impact and then returns the turf to its original shape.

Three compression slots on the bottom of the Softy act as release valves so as the turf is compressed at impact, the air pressure dissipates giving the golfer a realistic and smooth follow through without the sharp vibrations that other hitting mats produce.

    Good but learn how to use properly
    Really good for swing practice and speed work. But make sure you are focused on how you use it or you may not be benefiting from it. Good weight for juniors and stronger ladies.

    Much softer than my old mat

    I’ve had the mat for a few weeks now. I have one of those country club mats and found it was too hard; I was starting to get pain in my left elbow. So I bought the softy mat with the promise it was going to be extra soft for me. Impact with the mat feels easy and forgiving. I don’t get a hard rebound effect like my last mat. The base of the mat has a hard plastic shell and was sliding on my concrete floor. To solve this issue I put a non-slip rug pad under the mat. I am using a different brand mat to stand on. The new mat is thicker so I built up a base under the thin mat so now they are flush with each other. I am very pleased with the Softy mat.

    This hitting surface is much better then the others as there is more forgiveness in the foam.

    Lives up to the description!

    This strip definitely feels softer and more forgiving than the standard one that we wore out quickly. My only note is that it does sit slightly above the SIGPRO mat (maybe half a centimeter) if you’re concerned about a ‘flush’ appearance. Worth the difference, though. And the ShopIndoorGolf team is great for guiding you to the right products! (FWIW, we’re a bar in Dallas with a golf sim. AnotherRoundDallas.com if you want to come try it!)
