  2. Rajeswari

    Excellent Quality
This is an excellent mat. I bought this in late December and used it now in about 10 sessions of about 70 swings each. There’s no sign of wear. Very good quality.

  3. Rajeswari

    Practice mat
Good practice mat. Not as thick as I would like, but it works fine. I like using the tee holder peg. It allows me to use read tees to practice. I purchased the large size and it is big enough to support hitting all my clubs.

  4. Rajeswari

    Very sturdy.
Very nice mat for hitting golf balls off of. Also us it for a simulation golf game.

  5. Rajeswari

    I am using it well.

The Fiberbuilt Flight Deck Golf Hitting Mat features Fiberbuilt’s 1” thick proprietary fiber technology, engineered design, and oval shape for real grass-like on-course performance and industry leading durability and injury prevention.

First, just to give you a reference, it might help to know most driving ranges use mats that are 5′ x 5′. Golf Practice Mats should be purchased based on your height (or the height of the tallest person who will be using it). If you have, or are planning to have a golf simulator, we recommend a 5′ x 6′ or larger.

Mats Increase Your Risk of Injury

But if you’re one of those who tend to hit sharply down and through the ball, the resulting heavy impacts can only lead to aching muscles at best, and incapacitating injuries at worst.

Look for a hitting mat that keeps your body and the ball on the same level. You probably don’t want the ball above or below your feet for most of your practice time. Depending on what shot you want to play, consider a mat that simulates hitting out of the rough, second cut, and fairway.

When dry your mat or rug will become completely slip-proof, regardless of the flooring surface. Adhere the mats to the floor using either a high quality rubber or vinyl glue. This is also an option if you are worried about any mat movement. Contact your local hardware store for the best rubber, vinyl or silicone glue.

One commonly expressed complaint is the mat can damage your golf clubs. Often, mats have concrete or rubber underneath them. Depending on your swing, your club may come in contact with the underneath surface, and it can increase the speed of a club’s deterioration. It can especially hurt irons.

Mats also tend to be more forgiving than grass – especially on shots that are hit fat. Your club will bounce off the mat into the ball rather than dig into the grass. … Lastly, golf mats can affect the ball flight of your shot slightly.

Mat Pros: – They are more forgiving which gives you more positive mental feedback and keeps you encouraged when you are going through swing changes. – You get the same lie every time so you can build a repeatable stance/swing.

If you are hitting a long iron shot from the mat, or a driver off the tee, you won’t notice much difference as compared to practicing on grass. The biggest difference from a long iron perspective is that you have a perfect lie every time on the mat, with the ball sitting up cleanly.

You probably could. You could even use a carpet remnant, just make sure it’s a low pile, unless you want to practice hitting out of the rough. In either case, make sure there is sufficient padding so that the club won’t hit the floor and damage the club.
