When it comes to choosing a projector for a golf simulator, there are a few factors to consider:

  1. Brightness: The projector needs to be bright enough to display a clear and vivid image even in a well-lit room. A brightness of at least 2,500 lumens is recommended.

  2. Resolution: Higher resolution projectors will offer more clarity and detail in the image. A resolution of at least 1080p (1920×1080 pixels) is recommended, but if you have the budget, a 4K resolution projector will offer even greater detail.

  3. Input lag: The input lag of the projector is important for a smooth and responsive experience. A projector with a low input lag of 30ms or less is recommended.

  4. Throw distance: The distance between the projector and the screen is also important. You’ll want to make sure the projector can be placed far enough away to project a large image, but close enough to the screen to avoid any shadows.

Based on these factors, a good choice for a golf simulator would be a projector with a high brightness, 1080p or 4K resolution, low input lag, and a throw distance that fits the size of your simulator space. Some popular projector models for golf simulators include the Optoma GT1080HDR, BenQ TK850i, and Epson Home Cinema 3800.

The number of lumens required for a golf projector depends on several factors, including the ambient light in the room, the screen size, and the distance between the projector and the screen.

As a general rule of thumb, for a standard size golf simulator screen (around 10 feet wide), a projector with a minimum of 3000-3500 lumens should be sufficient in a dimly lit room. However, if you are projecting onto a larger screen or in a brighter room, you may need a projector with higher lumens to ensure a bright and clear image.

It’s always a good idea to consult the specifications of the particular projector model you are interested in and ensure that it meets the minimum lumen requirement for your specific setup.

The best aspect ratio for a golf simulator depends on the size and orientation of the screen or projector being used. However, the most common aspect ratio for golf simulators is 16:9, which is the same as a standard HDTV. This aspect ratio allows for a widescreen view that closely resembles the actual view on a golf course. Additionally, a 16:9 aspect ratio provides enough space for important golf simulator features like swing analysis, shot tracking, and virtual caddies.

However, it’s worth noting that some golf simulators may use a different aspect ratio, such as 4:3 or 21:9, depending on the specific software and hardware being used. It’s always a good idea to consult with the manufacturer or a professional installer to determine the best aspect ratio for your specific golf simulator setup.

I’m sorry, but I don’t have information on what projector Full Swing, the golf simulation company, uses. They may use a variety of projectors depending on the specific model and setup of their golf simulators. You could try reaching out to Full Swing directly or searching for more information on their website or online reviews to see if they provide any details on the projectors they use.

4K for the Most Immersive Golfing Experience at Home

The most advanced golf simulators have been optimized for use with software that support 4K outputs. To get the most popular software such as E6 CONNECT or TGC 2019 with their latest updates, you need a 4K projector.
