Any projector with a throw ratio that is equal to or less than this will work nicely. In this article, we only review short throw (or ultra short throw) projectors because they’re simply the best for golf simulators.

Short-throw projection generally refers to a distance between 3 to 8 feet away from projector to screen. … Ultra-short throw projection refers to a distance between 0 to 4 feet away from projector to screen.

Minimum: OS: Windows 7 64 bit, Windows 8 64 bit, Windows 10 64 bit. Processor: Intel Core i5-760 @ 2.80GHz or equivalent. Memory: 4 GB RAM.

Your projector is designed to be installed on a wall or ceiling (with the included mount). You can also place the projector on almost any flat surface (with the optional floor stand) to project an image in a portable setup, or on a lighting track (with the optional lighting track mount).

iPads and Tablets are the best devices for golf simulator owners who value portability, ease of use and a built in touch screen. I recommend either a laptop or desktop PC for those who wish to use simulation software such as The Golf Club and get the most out of your simulator graphically.

Projection Distance
Screen or image size (1) Projection distance (2) Wide to Tele
60 inches (152.4 cm) 69 to 113 inches (176 to 286 cm)
80 inches (203.2 cm) 93 to 150 inches (235 to 382 cm)
100 inches (254 cm) 116 to 188 inches (295 to 478 cm)
120 inches (304.8 cm) 139 to 226 inches (354 to 575 cm)

Short throw can create far greater images at much shorter distances, making them ideally suited to those who only have a small area in which to house their projector, so schools and bedrooms are ideal for these type of projectors. … These projectors can, for example, create an image of 100 feet from just 15 feet away.

Skytrak can connect to your phone, tablet or computer directly by using it’s own built in wifi. This is how Skytrak’s Direct Mode works. The downside though is that you can’t access online features this way. You need to access Skytrak’s Network Mode to be able to use the online features of the launch monitor and app.

Ideally, the center of the projector’s lens should align with the horizontal center of your screen, although some projectors do allow for offset installation. If you can’t have your projector dead center, for whatever reason, be sure to look for projectors with a lens-shift feature.

You can use your projector at an angle, just be ready to make some adjustments to the image. Chances are, it will be off-center or distorted at first. This doesn’t necessarily mean that you need to move the projector, there are ways you can bring the image into focus, either with keystone correction or lens shift.

LCD Projector. While LCD projectors have a sharper image and superior picture quality, DLP projectors are lighter, portable, and considered to be more reliable. DLP (Digital Light Processing) technology uses micro-mirrors to project images from a monitor onto a large screen.

To project in daylight, you need at least a 2500 lumens projector – while the recommended number is 3600 lumens to get a great mixture of brightness, contrast, and color accuracy.
